This is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or retrieve official booking records. Please direct those needs to the public office that holds the record.

County Jail and Booking Records

The Winkler County Sheriff’s Office is the local jail and booking-record contact. Its official material does not name a separate booking-records clerk or publish a fee schedule. For a written Texas Public Information Act request, identify the existing record sought, retain delivery proof, and ask the office to confirm the receiving channel.

Use 911 for an emergency. The published sheriff number is an office and record-routing contact, not a replacement for emergency dispatch. The county-linked custody interface and VINELink may help with a current status, but the sheriff is the official place to clarify a record question.

Choose the Right Office

Records are held by different custodians. Start with the agency that created the event, then use a court or state channel only for the later stage it actually covers.

  • For county custody, a booking record, or a photo request, use the sheriff contact and the county search and request path.
  • For a Kermit incident report, call Kermit Police at 432-586-2577 or the city at 432-586-3468 before sending a narrow written request.
  • For a Wink police report, begin with the police contact at 432-231-9753 or 432-527-3343 and confirm the public-information recipient before filing.
  • For a county-level court index, use the County Clerk self-service system; it is a changeable index, not the underlying court document.
  • For district-court routing, contact the Winkler County District Clerk at 432-586-3359.
  • For later Texas state custody, use the TDCJ offender search; it does not replace the local booking channel.
  • For a federal or immigration custody question, use the official BOP or ICE locator that applies to the reported custody system.
